Editorial Reviews:

Champions of Norrath: Realms of EverQuest -- In this engrossing role-player, you'll take on unspeakable danger, in a time before the current EverQuest games. An evil army is gathering, unlike anything the world has ever seen before. You'll journey from the elven tree city of Kelethin into the wilds of Norrath to save the land. Your mastery of weapons and magic are the only things keeping you alive, in the face of supreme evil! Use the great new voice-chat feature to plan strategies or just talk trash

User Comments about the Champions of Norrath

As a chick, I really appreciated all of the choices for female characters. If you are looking for a two player rpg for the PS2 system, this is one of the better ones. The only reason I played this was because of it being two-player co-op. If I were to play it by myself, and not use the online features, I think it would get boring quickly, because of the repetitive nature of the game play. You run around and kill things, collect weapons, etc. It's a fun, but typical, hack and slash rpg. The character choices are interesting and customizable.

It has a great story line which I was very pleased about, cause sometimes you buy games that have louzy story lines which usualy ruin the game.

I got this game for free from a friend, (it wouldnt work cause of the major scratches on the disk.

This game is a must buy.

but I used car wax and buffed the scratches out, and the game worked fine).

There are so many things to do, and tons of items (weapons, armor, jewelry with benefits, weapon upgrades, and more.).

I knew nothing about it before I played it.

anyway, I honestly didnt know what to exspect from this game.

but I was extremly happy that I got this game for free, it is truely a great game.

Probably the best of its genre that I've played.I definitely recommend this game.

If you loved Diablo, you'll love this game. I'm tired of Diablo 2 and wanted an alternative. It's almost the same thing. It could be an expansion pack. It's pretty funny because it is almost exactly like Diablo. after some research, bought this game. Unfortunately it lacks the great multiplayer aspect of Blizzard, but it's still very fun. I'm surprised Blizzard didn't sue.

Another issue I have with this game is that it is not playable from a 3rd person perspective. I bought Champions of Norrath, after I had just finished Final Fantasy XII, which I loved and throughly enjoyed playing the entire game. You just can get enough of yoursurroundings on screen. Again other games have solved this, so not sure why this one keeps you a mile away looking down on your characterin order to be able to play with a reasonable amount of perspective. The story is alright but didn't draw me in as muchFFXII did. I was looking for another RPG that would hopefully equal FFXII or maybe even be better. The major problem I have with it is the battle mechanic, smashing on the X button seems more like a side by side fighting gamemechanic. PROS: Detailed armor, and weapon visuals are nice, and the character sometimes has some funny quips.CONS: All in all it is fun, but the fun parts don't make up for the repetitiveness of the battle mechanic and the camera angle being so far away.

it was great game while people were playing it online. its just too ba this one was over looked. the sequel is okay, but due the expereinced crowd, its very hard for new players to enjoy online play. kind of like diablo. the story is just about what you would expect from an action RPG where you can create our own character. it didnt have many players online, but they few that were on could tell you that this was a great game.
