This extension works good with the original controllers (PS2 and GameCube) but not with the dancing pad it does not work at all. To Bad.
The only reason I give them four stars and not five is that they seem fickle about how far you unwind them. I bought a couple of these a week or so ago, and they've proved to be a worthwhile purchase. If you don't unwind at least a few feet of cable then they will sporadically lose their connection to the controller. Since I don't own a Game Cube I can't confirm its compatibility. I've used them both on my PS2 and my XBox, and they work fine on both. The built in plug is designed to work with a PS2 and they come with adapters for the other two systems. It's not a big deal, but makes them less than perfect.
