It should be noted that there is also a playstation version of the AirFlo. I was surprised to find that they still managed to include the standard controller's vibration feature. Since the mini-fan is internal, it cannot be removed. The Nyko AirFlo controller for the Xbox is one of the best ideas for an accessory.
The "XYAB" buttons are located a bit higher than usual and the "Back" and "Start" buttons are located in the middle. The main feature about this controller is that it has an internal mini-fan and slits that distribute the cool air flow. Its size and weight is very similar to the original Xbox controller, but the AirFlo is slightly bulkier. The air flow system really works and keeps your hand cool if you are one of those players with sweaty palms. The single thing I didn't like about this controller is that the "XYAB" buttons felt really soft and cheap like low quality.
Setting the fan on higher speed makes more noise but releases more air. There is a large button in the middle of the controller which activates and deactivates the fan. The trigger buttons are at the bottom as usual and work great with FPS (First Person Shooter) games. There are two speeds for the fan, setting on low speed is softer air and softer noise. Overall, I am happy with this controller and would recommend it to anyone that wants cool hands.
Sometimes the slimy feeling of a controller really distracts me when I'm playing. Also, your hands fit on the controller angled a little more inward and if you have big fingers they can get cramped in between the fan and the handles. When I pulled the trigger, sometimes it wouldn't shoot, it would fire at an extreme rate, or I would sporadically use my melee attack. When I first bought this controller I really loved how dry it kept my hands. Occasionally it would throw grenades as I was walking forward. My controller was probably just defective. I would return it if I knew where the receipt was.They have changed the design of this controller since I first wrote this review.
It looks cool and It's unique design makes it easy to recognize at LAN parties. It is different from the 1st party controller, in that the thumbsticks are raised more, the ABXY buttons are angled inward, and the the black and white buttons are shifted more to the top. After 3 weeks one of the thumbsticks began to stick, so in Halo I would spin around randomly. Take it with some salt.
When I saw this Airflow I had to have it. This thing is the best idea for a controller since the whole wireless concept. It functions perfectly, I've been using it for about a year now, and is even more ergonomically designed the standard and maybe even the controller s, and keeps my hands dry and cooled off, very comforting when your fingers are tired I sometimes pause and just let my hands fell the air.My only possible complaint is the little spinning noise that it makes that sounds kind of like those portable fans, but after about 10 seconds it just becomes white noise and I hardly notice it. I am a gamer that often gets sweaty palms. I only own one of these but boy is it worht it. You have to understand that whenever my friend wanted a turn with the game they would want to plug in a new controller so they wouldn't have to touch my dripping controller. It also gives you the option to turn it off as a regular controller, and is still my favorite, a good buy for the sweaty hand gamers(.).
halo is the game that sets the bar for all first person shootersits long its challenging on all levels of difficulty (even easy when you get to a certain point).so if you love kicking alien ass as a half robot half machine then this is the game for you my friend this is the game for you ps if you do buy the game the shot gun and the asult rifel is the best wepon team(the shot gun especially on the flood)
