Editorial Reviews:

Super Mario Bros Classic NES GBA MODEL- AGBPFSME VENDOR- NINTENDO FEATURES- NES Classics: Super Mario Bros. Might as well jump. Famous jumps of the mid-1980s: Carl Lewiss long jump in the 1984 Summer Olympics, 1984s "Jump" by Van Halen and Mario jumping on top of flag poles, pipes and everything else he could get his feet on in 1985. Which one is still jumping? Mario, of course, thanks in part to the re-release of the title that made him a household name. Relive the mushroom-eating, Koopa-stomping action in Super Mario Bros., part of the NES Classics series for the Game Boy Advance. Who will ever forget the first time they found a warp pipe or cleared the game? Sometimes the memory fades and the trigger finger gets slower as you become an old-timer. So beating the game again could pose achallenge. Surely after a half hour with the game, it will all come back to you. And if you werent even around when Super Mario Bros. first wowed the gaming world, you owe it to yourself to check out some of the greatest gameplay ever. Not to be left out, Luigi does his share of brick bustin and pipe crawlin. Two players can alternate play with a single Game Pak or with GBAs linked by a Game Boy Advance Game Link Cable. Youll still have to wait a long time if the person you play with is as good at jumping on the Koopas as you are at jumping into them. * The first epic battle between Mario and Bowser * Tons of classic puzzles * Goomba-stomping at its finest * Two players can alternate with a single Game Pak or via Game Boy Advance Game Link Cable. -- SPECIFICATIONs ------------br

User Comments about the Classic NES Series: Super Mario Bros

THIS IS THE BEST SELLING GAME WITH 40 MILLION COPIES AS OF 1999 AND THE BEST GAME OF THE 80S, 90S, 2000S. IT IS AAAAAAAAAAAAWWWWWWWWWSSSOMMMMEEECASE CLOSED. BOWSER LOST TO MARIO.

Got back into it last year. Then a couple months back I got thinking, 'I wish they would re-release some of the games I played in Junior High and High School.' So I did some looking. It's just plain great. All right, so I hadn't really played any video game system of any kind for about 15 years. I don't care if the graphics are dated or people don't understand it. Now I do wish I could save my progress, but that's a minor complaint. I'm remembering a lot of the secrets so I can get through the levels fairly quickly.

Imagine my surprise on finding one of the greatest games ever and one of my personal favorites was released. I hadn't really gone looking too deep into GBA games because I had the 2 or 3 games I thought I wanted. This has got to be the single best game ever made. I just got this today, but give me a couple weeks, I'll be going from beginning to end in a sitting.

Not much can be said that hasn't already been said about this all time video gaming classic. Veteran gamers can relive the magic while new gamers can experience the classic for the first time.Although this was designed for the Game Boy Advance, you can also play it on your TV if you have a "Game Boy Player", an accessory for the Game Cube. Personally, I prefer it that way but some folks don't. For those of you whose original NES will no longer function, despite all of your cartridge blowing and tapping, this serves as a valid substitute. As far as I can tell, this is the same game that was originally released on the NES. There are no "special features" that are so often included with re-releases. As of this writing, though, the Game Boy Player is discontinued so you'll have to find one used.

I found a game for the game boy color called "Super Mario Bros. I'm 12 years old, and it's been a long time since i picked up my GBA. Deluxe", which has this 1985 classic on it. This was my chance to play the orignal. Since I don't own a NES, I have not played the orignal "Super Mario Bros." Now I was looking online and I found this. But I know that the GBA can play original and color game boy games, I looked a little more. So, it's still a great game, but you can get for cheap by buyng "Deluxe".

The menu includes: continue, save high score, reset, linked play, and sleep mode. for the GBA is generally no different than the original. After the GBA logo thing goes away there's a split second of black them the title screen. You press start to start playing then you go on a jumping,goomba-squashing spree. I'll keep my review to the point:Super Mario Bros. Everything is exactly where it was and plays the same.A=jump,B=run+fire balls,Start=pause.Like all Classic Nes Series games, the screen is a little squished because of the change from the T.V to th GBA.So when you're playing it it MIGHT feel a little different. The game might change in difficulty because both the control and the screen are in you're hand.Pretty much the same.HOWEVER, there are a couple of differences as nothing could be the same.First, if you hold L+R a menu will pop up,so you can basically pause the game ANY time with this feature. The other change is that whem you beat the game, you could save with the option to save your high score. Also when you beat the game, koopas move faster and goombas turn into buzzy beatles that follow you when they touch something to make the game harder. So,DON"T SAVE WHEN YOU BEAT THE GAME to avoid this.Basically, it's the same game, with a few new features
