User Comments about the Battlefield 1942: Deluxe Edition (Mac)

Despite its age this is still an essential game to own. If you like large map MPS FPS or WW2 games this is a must.

After three tries, and only one answer (total 57 minutes listening to "please hold") a nice person tried to help me and failed to get anywhere at all. Following some advice from the Internet I bought a Logitech 3D Extreme Joystick. This is, overall, a great game. He advised I buy something called USB Overdrive, a program that supposed interfaces between all joysticks and all computers. The engine is either on or off, and pulling out of a dive takes so many mouse swipes you frequently crash. However, I have an iMac. I called Logitech. Didn't work.

Overdrive USB has taken their email off their site (too much spam) and doesn't give a phone number.So. My iMac won't recognized the Logitech joystick (although the vendor assured me it would). It is very difficult to fly the planes with a mouse. I called ASPYR and they told me the game cannot be played with a joystick. It's a very good game, but don't expect to fly a plane with any luck at all.

No problems what so ever. This plays great on my new MacBook Pro, 2.6 GHz, 4 Gb RAM, 512 video RAM, 200 Gb 7200 rpm drive, 17 -inch glossy screen Hi-Res. I don't play a lot of games and I am a new Mac user as well. Smooth video and action. I'm very pleased.

Although the game's campain is just facing the computer on a map. The online play is simply awsome, you can spend hours and hours on it. No glitches, or any kind of problums running it. This game is one of my all time favorite games. With operating this game i found no problums. Although on 64 player matches expect some lag. Over all if you love 1st person world war II shooters, and great online play.

Another good feature are all of the mods for the game. The game makes up for it by the killer 64 player online and the 35 vehicles you can operate. The best one is called desert combat and is a must have. Then this game is a must have.

All worked fine till I started getting kicked out of games because of punkbuster issues that are apparently too common and hard to resolve. Ruined the fun.
