Then when you think your out you get blamed for the destruction of it, so you become under house arrest and it takes too long for the game to get going. He doesn't offer anything to the game and is useless. It just lacks on so many levels.
So play the original and don't buy this unless it is decently priced, it doesn't end up being worth 40 or 50 bucks. I wont ruin the details but nothing happens. The game builds up for nothing. For instance, probably the worst start to any game I have ever played is you start off on a mining station called Peragus. It's an extremely disappointing ending. You have to spend the whole game getting parts to fix him.
First off the story is no where near as good as the first, but its not terribly bad. It could have been better but they didn't do anything with him. Another issue is you don't get your lightsaber until about half way through the game. This one is much darker than the first which might please people. The original is one of my favorites ever. Everything else though isn't an improvement over the first though. While this game may be more challenging overall than the first, the sith lords aren't even difficult or challenging. When I beat this I couldn't help feel disappointed.
The graphics are actually worse than the first. You spend too much time getting out of problems the story gets you into. They probably could have made it better but it is often confusing and not all that interesting. The other huge problem is the ending. My main issue with the characters though is one character, which shouldn't even be in the game is GOTO. It takes a while until you get off and it's really frustrating.
Another character HK you can barely use until midway through the game, and that's if your lucky, I didn't get to use him at all. The game was rushed for the holidays though, still there's no excuse for the weak graphics and glitches this game has.The characters, while pretty good just don't compare to the original. The rest of the characters are decent though. You think that since you put so much time and effort into the game they would give you a decent ending but they don't.
When I played this game the 1st way through I'd give it 3 stars, but each time i play this game, I get a better experience and learned to love the different characters, new features, and locations more and more. Anyone who gives it 3 or below hasn't played it twice, or spent time exploring the new features such as Influence(stroke of genus) work bench buff's and overall game interface. But there are negatives, it was rushed, the game play curve can take up to 3 entire play throughs, but this can be a good thing.
It is still a great game, but it is not the original. There should have been a way for the game to acknowledge that you played through the first in the series, and allowed the player to level up faster or skip certain aspects. My problem with KOTOR:II is the whole "I've got to start all over" feel to the game. It would have felt like a "true sequel" that way. My hope is for a better follow-up on the 360 platform.
However for those of us who were just looking for a good game this one fits the bill. If your a big Star Wars person. the game is probabally flawless to you. It is not made as well as the first in the series but its a nice carry on for the story and more light sabre and force power fun.
Our 9 year old says there is lots of action and loads of surprises in this game. Every choice you make changes the galaxy.
