the mouse pad slides just as easily along the surface of my desk as the mouse does over the pad itself. If I could give this product 2.5 stars, I would. I've been forced to put a mug on the corner of the pad to hold it in place. thus chopping off the amount of area available for the mouse. I bought this pad hoping to extend the life of my mouse by using it on a surface designed for just such a thing. The top of the mouse pad works great. I've given it the benefit of the doubt and rounded up to three.I wanted a thin but effective mouse pad because using my optical mouse directly on my desk surface has started to wear down the soft plastic glide pads under my expensive mouse. The mouse glides smoothly and effortlessly over the surface and my optical mouse tracks well. The underside of this pad is far too slick however. I suspect it would stay in place with some double sided tape but am frustrated as I dont want to have to do that.
Too small. They rock - also cheaper. Try the ones from Handspring. The pad glides all over the desk because of the completely ineffective 'grip' on the bottom. There are much better options out there. Don't waste your time or money with this one.
While not perfect, this is the best mouse pad I've found. If it slides around on the desk, try washing it in warm water and drying between paper towels. I've found that it'll grip better if you do that periodically.
This mouse pad provides unearthly precision. This is not like ANY other mouse pad, but somehow provides laser like mouse precision. Buy it.
However - I have spent more time than I like to admit looking for a decent optical mouse pad. I freely admit I'm hard to please in the mouse pad category, but on the other hand, why is it so tough to make a decent optical mouse pad. It's smooooth and fast and thin and not jumpy in the least. I had to rate this item to get this on here, but I've never bought it. I like it. Did I mention it is dirt cheap. It has a hard surface, so we'll see how long it lasts, but I have a whole drawer full of material.
After falling just short of strangling a computer store bozo, I went home, thinking all the way. I'm a CAD jockey, meaning Computer Aided Drafting, and I run my screen resolution at 1280x1024 so I can see fine detail. When I got there, I hunted up a manila folder, cut in half, and taped it to my desk. Try it.
