Editorial Reviews:

Katamari Damacy is a silly, colorful and occasionally hysterical game that's become a hit in Japan. Now it's arrived here and it's unusual gameplay and one-of-a-kind design will make gamers laugh and play for hours! When the King of All Cosmos accidentally destroys the stars in the sky, he orders his pint-sized princely son, to put the twinkle back in the heavens. He decides to do this by rolling everything and anything on earth into clumps, so he can replace what's missing in space.

User Comments about the Katamari Damacy

this game is a ton of mindless fun. the plot is enjoyable and ridiculous and the graphics go well with the game. great game for guys or girls or people of pretty much any age.

The only major downside to this game is the very repetitive game play that may turn off some gamers. Katamari Damacy is a rarity in the video game industry, that being a truly unique game. Also, the very cartoonish graphics and odd design may also turn off some gamers as well. The Prince accomplishes this goal by using a Katamari, an extremely adhesive ball, to roll up an ever increasing amount of items under a specified time limit. The game revolves around the Prince of Cosmos' and his attempt to gather material to make new stars and moons, after the King of Cosmos destroys them all in what appears to be a drunken bender. While the game play is actually fairly simple, the game's unique design is what will continue to have players coming back. Overall, Katamari Damacy is a unique game that suffers from some reparative game play issues, but the game is defiantly worth playing and even owning.

Each level can be completed in 5-25 minutes. Great game. If you can only spare 30 minutes or less of your day playing video games, spend it on this. but my word is it the most amusing game ever. The controls are straight forward, and the game play is simple. And it is perfect for the casual gamer. (Although you will want to spend more ^.~) That and my 4 year old LOVES watching me play he thinks it's hilarious.

Frankly there are a TON of great games available for this platform for next to nothing. For the longest time, this game might as well have been sealed inside my mini PS2. Get a PS2 at a local Gamestop, Garage Sale, or on Craigslist for next to nothing. Then get this game and it's sequel. Then I got 'We Love Katamari' and I go back and forth.A completely amazing and delightful experience. The art and soundtrack are just hilarious fun for you to sit back and marvel at.Looking to have some cheap fun during this 'uncertain' times. Not a whole lot I can add to the chorus of praise here.

But both flavors of Katamari you can play over and over again. I am not what you would call a gamer at all. It's weird, it's strange, it's incredible. I play some things casually, then when it gets too difficult I wander away and don't come back. This game reminds you that it's not about high definition blood splattering, but great gameplay and sheer fun.

I never use my Playstation 2 at home anymore, so I hooked this up to the TV in the lounge at work. When the Playstation was still at home and in regular use, it was great for casual weekday gatherings at home. Even though only one person can play at a time, people stop in for a few minutes to watch and decompress. It became wildly popular very quickly, because anyone can pick up the controller and learn how to play in about a minute. It's also a cheerily colorful and light-hearted distraction in a busy office. A very social game. The ability to pick up the control and be told in less than a minute how to play is the same draw that has made the Wii wildly popular.
