You're really just paying for an extra bigger outside box along with an additional new controller in a bag inside the box. At the time it was a steal because you were really paying $99 for $160+ worth of stuff. I bought this exact bundle for $99 at circuit city on November 2004. At this moment, it would be much easier and cheaper to buy all these items seperately (especially since the Wii was released). I would only reccomend this if you're a serious collector and you had to have everything.
My husband loves Mario, so I bought this as a gift. I love the "bundle" factor.saving money is key.My husband plays this game alot.it looks fun, I'm just controller challenged.
Gamecube had been orginally started from the N64 Console, but now they made it to the point that, if they ever made a SEGA Dreamcast 2, it would rival it. The Nintendo Gamecube is a tiny console, with unbeatable quality, both in the console and games, a strong, customer guarrentee minimum with any manufactorer that sells games or devices (I had a broken Memory Card and they replaced it for free), stunning graphics, and realistic framerate (to the point in which you wonder if real humans or the humans in the consoles have a better movement). I have bought the same Package as the one shown above, and let me assure you, if you like good games that have high, consistant framerates and quality, you're looking at the wrong place. The system is like a European Mini, small on the outside, but designed for pleasure on the inside. My only drawback is personal, that I am a fighter pilot and rifleman, and Gamecube has low levels of War Time Sniper or fighter pilot games.
DURABILITYGamecube A- If you drop it, It will scratch but it is still playable. I am eleven years old and I live in Florida and because it rains so much, I got this system and the racing game. Playstation2 B+ Not only does it scratch, have you ever seen "DISK ERROR."GAMES Gamecube- B+ it does not have many games but they are excellent qualityPlaystation A tons of games (cheap though)Okay, thank you very much for reading. About the system- although it does not have many games or accesories, the few games that are avalible or GOOD QUALITY GAMES not like the cheap, playstation games. I will tell the game gets boring after a while but if you come back to it later, it is very fun. Lets see how the gamecube competes with the playstation 2. ILOVEGAMECUBE.
All you fanboys of Nintendo, Sony, and Xbox should try the other systems. Give them a chance before you denounce them. People are literally completely bashing the PS2 and Xbox calling them "inferior" and "boring." I will say that for $100 this was a great deal. I'd prefer the PS2 since it's a great variety, and some of the best video games available. Xbox has the best FPS's and graphics, along with online-service. It also has a great variety of racing games, platformers and just about anything you want. I also had an Xbox that I later sold because it didn't really have what I was looking for.
Controllers are atleast $20 a piece and that's not even counting the system. Sony has the best RPG's like Final Fantasy, Dark Cloud 2, Shadow Hearts Covenant, Suikoden 3 and many others. Not to offend anyone, but it seems like we have A LOT of Nintendo Fanboys at this review. Needless to say this was a great opportunity, it's only a shame that they've discontinued it since the holiday season. If you would try out other systems, you would see that they have a ton of other games. Mario Kart is by itself $30. Nintendo has great first-party games like Zelda, Metroid, Mario and others. I'd recommend a Gamecube and either a PS2 or an Xbox.
In the end, this is a good deal, but now there's no point because people are selling it at ridiculous prices and stupidly enough, Nintendo has discontinued it completely. Someone below said "PS2 is only good for 2 players," or "Xbox is only for Halo, and PS2 has nothing." People need to be open-minded and stop being fanboys to only THEIR system. Back to what I was saying, every person is at least suited for one system best, but most are probably better off getting 2 of them. I personally had only a gamecube, but also purchased a PS2 because I really like RPG's. It is lacking in other departments, but it does usually come up with the best multi-platform titles that are released on all the systems.
