The keyboard is very light, which is not all bad, but some weight would be helpful when using this in your lap. The mouse keys, have a dreadful feel to them, taking a lot of effort to push down. This keyboard does function fine on windows XP without any drivers. We have this on our media center pc connected to a largescreen LCD TV.
The touchpad is tiny (as is most of this class of keyboards), making playing games very difficult. Why can't someone build a small keyboard with a touchpad at least the size of the average laptop. Often we simply play MMORPG games on this PC from our couch. It is used to select media on the hard drive, or on the net.
However it is very cheaply made, and not much fun to use. A larger laptop sized palmrest would also greatly improve the design.
Rechargeable batteries are a must cause you'll use it alot. I have owned this keyboard for a few years now and it still works great. I really have no idea why the "experienced user" and others had issues with it. This kb is great. I initially got it because I frequently use a laptop and wanted to use my desktop more. At one time, I did have a problem and Adesso RMA'd it w/ no prob. As my desktop display is actually my tv, i needed a setup where i could type and mouse from the couch.
It works great w/ xp, you just press the buttons to pair it like the directions say. I ended up putting the receiver w/ a usb extension cord since my usb ports are in the back. The keyboard has good range and was easy to set up. You do not need special drivers for it. :)
not really a "plug and play" touchpad for one who's used to a mouse, and the glidepoint touchpad is much more sensitive than my Dell laptop's trackpad.
I purchased this keyboard to help with a limited range of motion and some lack of sensation in fingertips.
One plus: it seems to work the same with a Mac and a PC.
Because of its small size I thought it would help, however the touchppad was way too sensitive.
Maybe it's set up wrong in software.
This might have been a "learning curve" issue but was too annoying for me.
Typing with the heels of my hands resting left and right of the touchpad, getting my fingers near the touchpad "set it off".
I still have the keyboard but use it with a mouse instead of using the touchpad now that my range of motion is somewhat better.
Might be fast and wonderful if the touchpad use is ever mastered.
It arrived on time and worked flawlessly out of the box. It does everything described in the ad and flawlessly. After installing the drivers on Windows XP, I was surprised at the number of features available for the touchpad. I experienced non of the problems mentioned by other users. Very happy with it.
I need a good keyboard touchpad, this inferior product jumps the cursor around opening and closing windows, someone suggested repairing the crimped USB wires inside, I repaired the wires but the problem still exists. It seems Adesso products are too flawed for consumer use.I will never purchase Adesso again and recommend buyers to beware of this company's inferior products.Adesso deserves 0 stars but I had to choose 1
