User Comments about the Targus Ultra Mini Wireless Mouse for Mac (AMW03US)

In regards to several posts on this product, I have not had a problem yet; had this device for over a month now. I'm using a MacBook Pro. Worth the price (IMO).

No word.

This piece of crap lasted about two weeks.

Another rebate scam from an electronics company, joining San Disk and eMachines.

Then it shorted out and temporarily shut down the keyboard and usb connections.

So I sent copies.

New batteries did not help; the usb connector stopped working.A compaint to Tagus brought no help.

It took about an hour before the keyboard came back.

And by the way, they denied receiving my mail in rebate.

I am thoroughly disgusted with ordering anything over the internet.A bad product from a bad company.

The mouse itself, other than it initially being a dud, is acceptable. This mouse arrived completely dead. The only complaint I have with it is that the radio frequency range is very short (on the order of inches). The range is so short that I have to use an extension chord to reach around my laptop, so that the little transmitter will be close enough to the mouse. However, to my surprise the online for took less than 5 minutes and they had shipped the replacement before I had mailed the dud. I've never had to return anything through Amazon, but did not look forward to the process. Service couldn't be better in my opinion. Otherwise, it is a nice little portable mouse.

There's also a physical on/off switch on the mouse, which I like better than a "sleep" mode, because I keep my mouse in a baggie along with a dozen other dongles, cables, PCM cards, and the like when I'm on the road. I've used several mice with my laptops over the years. With an on/off switch there's no chance the mouse will be awakened to drain the batteries. If you hate the concept of a skinny mouse, then this ain't for you, but I find it very usable and about as compact for travel as you're going to find. Compact, cheap, works well.EDIT: I have no idea why they call it a mouse for "a Mac." I use it on my Dell laptop just fine. You just have to spend a little time with it. This one is by far the most compact of them all, but it's not unusable. Functionally, it works great: wireless, optical, scroll wheel. Maybe the white color.

If you want a very small travel mouse, this might be the way to go. It would be a great mouse for a kid under 6 years old. Under $23.00 it's a good deal. I can't hold it like a regular mouse because my hand would get cramped. I keep my hand flat across its surface and click with my fingers but not the tip of my fingers. I also like the on/off switch for preserving the battery.
