User Comments about the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 3: Mutant Nightmare

There are some places in the game that the only thing you see on screen is a huge wall. Turtles can attack in many ways and even join forces with group attacks. Remember this is an old school beat em up. I definitely do not regret buying this game.

I think this is the best of the 3 latest TMNT game and I really enjoyed it. A great unlockable is the arcade game Turtles in Time. The wall stands between the turtles and the camera. There is also a challenge mode that rewards you with items to upgrade your turtles where you have to kill the most number of enemies in a certain time. The sounds are not from the original arcade but the game is pretty much the same, but quite easier since you can just "add coins" by just pressing a button. The graphics I think are pretty neat, intentionally maintaining cartoon-like visuals.

These games rarely obtain high ratings due to their simplicity. Another great thing is the ability to find hidden items to upgrade each turtle individually as you please. The game can be beaten pretty fast, around 9 hours. I think the audience for these games are for kids, but I was a huge fan of the series and owned all the classic tmnt NES games which I loved and and now I'm not a kid anymore and still liked TMNT mutant nightmare. Despite the many reviews of TMNT 3 mutant nightmare warning of a mediocre game, I took a chance and bought the game. The game does give the feeling of the classic arcade and NES games, specially on the menu interface and on the music. This usually happens when entering doors. After playing for about 3 hours, I was surprised of the many improvements the game has and the low ratings reviewer's gave.

The game doesn't get boring because the missions vary. But you may want to go back to the levels to find more unlockables. But under this category, this game pretty much does and satisfies what a beat em up should do, still respecting the history and tradition of tmnt games, which are always underrated if you ask me. Luckily you can rotate the camera with the thumbstick, but it becomes annoying after many times. There are always 4 turtles on screen and you can give commands to attack the same target to CPU controlled turtles. One thing that can be a problem is the camera.

You can also buy skills and combos to each turtle. There are lots of mini games to give a break to the classic levels, although I think that the classic levels didn't necessarily need the mini games but the addition of them were a great idea. There are many videos between missions and in them you can unlock hidden videos of the characters from the cartoon. Still a very nice addition for nostalgic fans (like me).

This game is the best one. If you know some one who likes Ninja Turle games then get them this game for Crismas, Hanicha or what ever you cellibrate. It has better grafic, sound and you can unlock lots of secret arcade games. It never gets boring and it brings lots of Martial art moves to the game. For the people who do not like to take time on their games and want to get through it in a milliseccond it is not the game for you. The price is good to.

^_^ That earns a star in itself.Nonetheless, I have to say I still think 2 is the best yet. cause they all looked SO DAMN ALIKE.).I sighed with relief when I discovered that this game has CAMERA ANGLES, where you don't have to go blindly into corners like you had to in 2. There isn't much else to say beyond that really.Well, ok maybe a couple of things: For starters, there aren't as much unlockables (mostly just a few movie clips.many of which have already been seen on fox saturday morning), you no longer have the option of playing as a secondary character (casey jones, karai, splinter, etc).

(The "nightmare" levels aren't very noteworthy). There's no map where you can select your level like in 2.Let's just say I unlocked/conquered everything in a disappointingly short amount of time, unlike 2 which took a while, but I loved every minute of it.Something I did like: was having the other turtles fighting alongside yours simultaneously. An element that makes you feel closer, truer to the story because as you most likely (already) know they fight as a team much, much more often than they would individually. And finding the ninja scrolls throughout the game were also worth mentioning (some of the "unlockables") you can mix & match them to modify your turtles strengths. the landscape of the game just doesn't have the vastness or variety that #2 did. Might be the answer to your prayers if you're the type that depends on cheat codes just to get by, but, the way I figure it: if you truly want it THAT easy, you should have spent your money on the animated series DVD's instead.Having the travelling map up on the screen was especially helpful, but that's mainly because so much of the areas in the game were so easy to get disoriented in (ex: you get lost in the streets, building halls, etc. I've yet to try melee.I hear it's jam-packed with goodies.

For example, using the "ultimate turtle" scrolls against Shredder, the "ultimate challenge", the game's highest point, and it's over in a minute, I kid you not. The "ultimate turtle" was fun for about 5 minutes. In 2, you would play as one individual, yet the movie clips would show all 4 involved in the fight. One would think that having your character posess off-the-charts strength would be really cool, but then after awhile it gets boring cause it's not challenging anymore. i can't wait.
