It's Mario Kart on the DS, plain and simple. I kinda wish there were more tracks, but multiplayer and battle mode more than make up for it. If you love Mario Kart you will love this game.
Great game for beginners, especially. This has, by far, been the best game we purchased for our 6 year old son. It's graphics are large enough not to frustrate him, and the games are easy to understand. Worth every penny.
The missions ad an extra element of challenge which I have yet to master but it doesn't stop me trying. I had played the original version of this game as a kid so when I bought my DS I decided to buy the DS version of MarioKart to play when I got fidgety. It's great to play though it seems more challenging than the original. I saw a kid playing the same game one day and he had gone through all the missions so it really goes to show that this is a game for anyone.
This means it can be great fun in tight airplane seats on bumpy flights where stylus use can be troublesome. The controls are easy to master. Even though I am a member of AARP, I still love this game. One important point left out by some reviewers -- you don't need the stylus to play the game, just the buttons. Lastly, the difficulty levels are just about right -- as you improve the challenges increase to match.
