Editorial Reviews:

FINAL FANTASY VII: Advent Children continues the game’s storyline in this CG-animated film, featuring non-stop action and exciting visual effects. Two years have passed since the ruins of Midgar stand as a testament to the sacrifices made in order to bring peace. However, the world will soon face a new menace. A mysterious illness is spreading fast. Old enemies are astir. And Cloud (Burton), who walked away from the life of a hero to live in solitude, must step forward yet again...

Backed by a full team of video game extraordinaires, the film was directed by Tetsuya Nomura and Takeshi Nozue, written by Kazushige Nojima and produced by Shinji Hashimoto and Yoshinori Kitase.

User Comments about the Final Fantasy VII - Advent Children (Two-Disc Special Edition)

The Final Fantasy VII story line has been fleshed out so much since its original release that it seems new all over again with each release. I like that so many of the original characters reappeared here and that the mythology of the game remains essentially the same as it had been. Aerith is so beautiful in this movie, she's always really inspired me. Advent Children is the jumping point from which all the new Final Fantasy VII titles seem to have been launched, even those that are meant to be prequels. Cloud wears his new look well, as does Tifa, although I do miss the original costumes. If you've played Final Fantasy VII and you haven't seen this yet, by all means, pick it up.

Advent Children is simple a piece of art.I love how the staff of this videogame keeps on taking new stuff and ideas of a futuristic setting and of their unique lovable characters.A MUST have for Final Fantasy fans, either videogames, anime or manga.I want more of this kind of stuff and of this same high quality.

recommend this format for anyone that needs a more "portable" version of this movie, if you love it as much as i do. i already have it on dvd but i had to have it in a more convent form, so i go it on umd for my psp. I LOVE THIS MOVIE. xP

It's about twenty five minutes long, but at least I had something go by. When I saw this movie, I liked it almost right away. Anyhow, the music is excellent, the graphics are really good, and the story is really good. I wasn't clear with the story because I hadn't played Final Fantasy 7 before. In fact, this is what caused me to become an FF7 fan in the first place. Fortunatly, it has an option to watch a type of overview of Final Fantasy 7. My advice to those who haven't played Final Fantasy 7 is to pay close attention to what's happening, and what the characters are talking about.

overall the movie was great.the action and cg sequences were awesome.its by far one of the better cg movies ive seen and is about equal to Final Fantasy:The Spirits Within.my only complaint was the fact that it was animated with the Japanese language as the characters original language and then translated to English with voice-over.its more of an annoyance when u see the characters mouths speaking japanese.but you hear english.other than that it was well worth the money, and worth watching over and over.especially if you are a Final Fantasy fan.
