Editorial Reviews:

Expansion pack; Installation of Battlefield 2 required
Battlefield 2: Special Forces drops you right into the middle of a 21st century shootout! The good news is that you have a team of grunts at your side to help you survive in frenzied close-quarters combat. The bad news is that you have to engage the enemy on their home turf, in the world's most dangerous hot spots. Unleash 6 of the world's deadliest military forces, using their fury and high-tech arsenal to survive. Complete your mission and get home alive.

User Comments about the Battlefield 2: Special Forces Expansion Pack

Most of the install issues are from old posts. Then, once the patch is complete, you can run BF2 SF from the desktop BF2 SF shortcut, play one round to get the unlocks. Then, run the patch. To install BF2 SF, first make sure you have patch 1.41 full install handy (download it first if you do not). Install BF2 SF, but DO NOT RUN IT. The unlocks automatically follow with your account, so when you load up BF2 (non-SF), you'll still have your unlocks.

I found out it best to install bf2 ,then special forces then patch. That way you don't have to reinstall bf2.It has some sweet rides to go with it. I like using the quads and doing some sweet jumps.

BF2 SF continues the tradition of BF2 with the addition of new maps, vehicles, weapons, and equipment. I like the SF maps because they're medium sized and allow for a lot of different sniping locations and "things to do". Some of the BF2 64 player maps are so large that you find yourself running around from Pt A to Pt B too often.

It's an "ok" game i bought this for the weapon locks on bf2.I like the online play, pretty intense. For players that have BF2.i must say this game gives you more strategic chances than playing BF2 online, for example flanking the enemy from 2nd floor to 3rd floor with a rope to climb on.

Battlefield 2: Special Forces, though not adding much to the genre, is a solid game from EA. Back to the expansion. This gives a solid performance but when it comes to finding quality games with a variety of maps where the server is fun and enjoyable for all parties, that is where the game is lacking. (clever, eh).Though this means that the game's addition content burnt through very quickly there is always the strive for higher ranks. This expansion adds new maps, armies, weapons and vehicles. The only reason most of the people how purchased this did buy it was for the "Double Unlock" System, where you get double the unlocks for every rank. Aswell as making SF and Vanilla into one single button so there is no need for alternation.
