I'm going to try to get a replacement from J&R but I still may end up paying for return shipping and the replacement may not work any better than the original.Nintendo DS Lite Safe Screen However, the guy played along and tried the process on one from their stock and, sure enough, he was able to recreate it. If it's such a trick they would do well to actually provide some written instructions. (I checked again carefully today to make sure there really is not an additional layer and, no, there is not). I'm not sure why packaging would be so different that some of the products have clear films to which the stickers are attached, as described by Elizabeth Moynihan, and other versions of the product have 1 clear film to which tab #1 is attached but no second clear film separate from the protector for attaching tab #2. They report either complete success or complete failure so, of course, I was hoping my story would be one of success. I read the reviews of these screen protectors before making my own purchase. I carefully cleaned the lower screen of my new Nintendo DS Lite and removed the plastic support attached to tab #1, so far so good.
However, he continued to insist that more careful removal would not have resulted in the problem. Alas. Apparently they've never heard of Post-Its.). He offered me the opportunity of paying for return shipping to receive a replacement or trying a product called Goo-Gone to remove the remaining sticker.
(How can you not correctly remove a tab. In fact, tab #2 did not lift cleanly from my screen protector, leaving about half the adhesive with the torn paper on the protector. The protector went on fine but then came the part where so may others describe failure: removal of tab #2. I called Intec and they claimed that they never heard of this and accused me of not correctly removing the tab.
I declined.
I DEFINITLY HAVE SEEN AN IMPROVEMENT IN MY MEMORY AND LOVE THE CHALLENGES.DS LITE: GAMES: "BRAIN AGE 1&2" AND "LEFT BRAIN/RIGHT BRAIN"
Product did not fit the touch screen on my DS, it was oversize compared to the screen. I threw mine away. Definitely not recommended.
you can get them at Walmart for like $4.00 sometimes. it will save you lots of irritation, I'm sure you would much rather them scratch up something that costs $5.00 vs the $130.00. I would recommend to anyone who gives their kids a ds lite to get one of these, not even this particular one, but just one. that's my two cents. check around.
I had trouble getting the top film off, and for a minute, was very frustrated because it looks like the paper tab is all that needs to be peeled off, but it's not.
Got these screen protectors to protect the touch-screen.
There's a whole film there that gets peeled off.
Once I figured out how to install them, they are great.
When you get the protectors, and after your screens are clean, you peel off the thin film that was keeping the screen-side of the protector dust-free and squeegee it on (to remove bubbles) and then, and this is the part that got me, you have to peel off the thin film that is now between you and the actual screen protector.
Make sure the screen is CLEAN.
The installation of the protector is tricky though.
The screen protectors come sandwiched between clear peel-off sheets on each side and little paper tabs attached.
After you manage to get that top film off, the screen protectors are GREAT.
