This time, when star power was accumulated, I literally took the guitar off and swung it around furiously in an attempt to activate my star power. eventually kicked in after I threw it on my couch (damn controller was lucky it was the couch and not the wall). My wife purchased this for me for Christmas and was really excited for me to use it. Plugged it in, started with the 80's version of Guitar Hero, notes were slightly choppy to play (response time not accurate) but not horrible.
I'm 31 and LOVE playing the Guitar Hero franchise, however, this is the biggest piece of junk I have ever purchased. star power is a must and with the amount of effort needed to engage, it's not even worth the hassle. Thought maybe it's because of the version of Guitar Hero that made the star power difficult to engage. accumulated my star power and with much effort, eventually got the Star Power to kick in.
slapped the first one in and same problem. Stay away from this product.
The yellow botton does not have the raised line on it - it is smooth like the other buttons which makes is easy to "lose" where your fingers are. I is much sleeker and shinier than the other guitar controllers available, but as soon as I picked it up I knew it was crap. Since I can't find the wireless version of this tragedy I am writing a review for this controller since appears to be exactly the same guitar minus the cord. On top of that the fret buttons stick and the strum bar sounds like some kind of mad clacker - not to mention that it is so small it is uncomfortable to hold. As I was putting in the batteries the fret buttons and strum bar actually rattled around as I moved the guitar. When I opened the box I was impressed by the way it looks. I made it through one song with this thing and was completely disgusted by the time it was over. I handed it off to my husband who played a couple of songs on easy before giving up on making it work.
Then we put it in the box and took it right back to Target. I am an accomplished Guitar Hero player. First of all the thing is tiny and super light. I generally play the expert mode but since I wasn't used to the guitar I figured I would start off on hard difficulty. Stick to the Red Octane/PS2 licensed controllers.
this guitar hero controller is only compatible with guitar hero 1 game. I was unaware of this fact when I purchased the item, but was sent an adapter when I notified the seller. Be aware of this inconveniece.
nothing else. i havent gotten around to calling the company but its the first thing im doing when i get the chance. i bought it as a gift. didnt even think of trying it out before i gave it to them as a christmas present.
spend the money on getting an offical guitar through red octane. its worth spending the $40-$60 for the controller. i took it back home to test it out. come to find out, it was broken.
only one of the fret buttons, the start button and the whammy bar worked. at least you know that one wont break on you.
works great, shipped very very fast, i wasnt expecting to recieve it as fast as i did because of the christmas holiday
