User Comments about the Tritton AX360 True 5.1 Dolby Digital Surround Sound Gaming Headset

The vibration is basically there to help simulate bass, and it feels great at higher settings, though hardly noticeable at lower ones.Build: The headphones are definitely solid and not fragile. The detachable mic is kind of dinky small but not easily breakable. Any HDMI cableIf you don't have ALL four of these, this headset will be worthless to you. An XBOX 360 Audio Adapter4). At first you certainly notice that it's not quite as good as regular speakers, stuff sounds a bit "hollow" in comparison, like you're listening to stuff in a gigantic metal container, but you quickly get used to it and forget the difference. Those that sit far away from their 360 could run into trouble, although I imagine most people won't have a problem with the cord length.IMPORTANT NOTE - TO USE THIS HEADSET ON YOUR XBOX 360 - YOU NEED THESE:1). The XB360 Audio Adapter comes free with any XBOX360 Elite, but you can also buy it bundled with an official Microsoft HDMI cable for around $50.

That can be convenient so you don't have to take the mic on and off all the time but it also could be easy to lose. Some older model 360's do not have HDMI ports, so check that first. An XBOX 360 that includes an HDMI port.3). Every once in awhile you'll hear a couple strange beeps and boops that resemble the inside of a spaceship, but they're infrequent and only noticeable when the sound is quiet.

Got these for myself instead of grabbing one of the Turtle Beach headsets because of the 5.1 functionality and I had heard interference was a problem with wireless headsets.Sound: Sound quality is fairly decent. The top bar is padded, which is nice. If you didn't understand a word I just said, don't buy this headset because otherwise you're going to be totally confused when it arrives. There's three different adjustments for volume, front, center, and rear, and a fourth for vibration. They're a tad heavy which can put some pressure on the ears after a few hours but nothing painful. This audio adapter is required because the headset uses an optical audio cable for sound and this adapter is the only way you can get optical audio on your 360. A high-definition television that accepts HDMI.2).

Minor gripe is that in order to use the mic, there's a detachable cord that plugs into the mic that works as a bit of an extender. The bar is easily adjustable for size but it locks well so it won't loosen and adjust on its own either. The cord for the headset is just long enough to reach from my 360 to my couch, so it's not much of a problem for me that it's not wireless. This adapter also plugs into the standard cable hookup slot for the 360, which means that you have to use an HDMI cable for your video on your 360.

I bought this for my son for Christmas. His only negative comment was that he can't wear it lopsided on his head, covering only one ear and leaving the other ear open. He's very happy with it. He said its the best gaming headset he's ever had. Very clear, great quality, mic is excellent. He has to wear it on both ears or it falls off his head.

I purchased this headset for my son for Christmas. He said that the sound is good when you are playing the game, but it is not so good for hearing your friends talk on X Box live. He said he recomends the Turtle Beach X3 for use on X box live.

After a few small adjustments and a bit of getting used to I've fallen in love with these things. They really add a whole new level to the 360's gaming experience while also great for watching DVDs and using the Xbox Netflix feature. Very satisfied with my purchase.

Well, I certainly think I got more than my money's worth. The cushions are WONDERFUL. Trust me when I say that 100 dollars for these headphones is a great deal. I've been playing video games for a very long time, and especially FPS (first person shooter) games.

The headphones also vibrate and you can adjust the front, rear and center speakers in the headphones as well as adjust the level of vibration (that go along with the games just like your controller will). I don't want to go into the "details" of every little thing. In fact, I've been called a "hacker" or "cheater"--and other far more derogatory terms--because of my skill and use of decent headphones. Many of these games rely on headphones to determine where people are coming from.

I recently did some research and decided that these would probably be the best for me considering they are PC grade headphones that work on my XBOX 360. I just want you to know that if you appreciate good headphones, then you will adore these monsters.
