Editorial Reviews:

Pokemon Ranger is a different kind of Pokemon gaming. You're still capturing and training Pokemon, but not for competition. Instead, you're working to protect them as a Pokemon Ranger! Use the new Capture STylus to catch Pokemon, then help them survive in the wild.

User Comments about the Pokemon Ranger

I was pleased with my purchase. I received in perfect condition and it came before it was expected. Thank You.

When you do actually capture it, it is from pure luck. That's where it went sour. I will never again play this game and I doubt I will buy the second. Some of the poke'mon you must capture are so hard that you will try and try and try until you want to break the game and choke the designer. Poke'mon ranger was an interesting idea when I first heard about it.

Still, I wanted to try it and see what it was like. The action is repetitive, the game play is dull, and the people in it talk waaaaaaaay too much. I knew, going in, that you didn't capture poke'mon forever, just for one use. It is repetitive, dull and outlandishly annoying.

Needless to say, the game had promise, and that promise was broken. Beyond all the rest of the problems, the main issue I have is with the capturing. Every time I saw the foursome rock back, which is a generous use of the words 'rock band', I groaned, knowing that they would spend forever doing the same little introduction. The game is annoying at best.

Beyond wording and repeated ideas, the follow through is beyond iritating. The ONLY reason that I completed it was to get the manaphy.

My son absolutely loves this game and plays it constantly. I am very satisfied in my purchase.

The storyline is good, and you still have things to do after the game is over. This game is really good, from touch screen usage to capture pokemon to each pokemons special abilities. Personally, my favorite part is that you can get a Manaphy and send it to your Pokemon Diamond or Pearl. After you do that, then there is nothing to do.

.but for 15, it is. The graphics are not at all special, and the gameplay does get a bit old, but it's entertaining for what it is. Rather than throwing Pokeballs from a menu command, you "draw" them with your stylus (which generally means circling Pokemon).I enjoyed the game for numerous reasons (not the least of which is the ability to get a top-notch Pokemon for Diamond), but I wouldn't have if the game was full price. And yeah, Amazon has cut the price, so you can get it for that much.Pokemon Ranger is a bit different from the other Pokemon games in the series (to be expected). The DS-style gameplay is a refreshing change from the capture-style used in other games (such as Pokemon R,B,Y,G,S,Ru,Sa,Em,FR,LG,D,P,(.).), although it can get old. Happy hunting.
