Editorial Reviews:

Mega Man ZX continues the incredible Mega Man X saga! It's been years since the wars between humans and Reploids. They now coexist peacefully, with humans using new Biometal technology to give them Reploid-like powers and Reploids giving up their immortality. When a mysterious group attacks three couriers delivering Model X and Model Z Biometals, they respond by fusing themselves with the Biometals, creating Model ZX! With powerful abilities at their disposal, they must discover who their enemies are and what they are after.

User Comments about the Mega Man ZX

It is geared more towards hardcore/older audiences not because of offensive material, but because of it's difficulty. So, if you are sick of playing easy games, this will definitely satiate your thirst. I myself LOVED hard mode; it's like a shout-out to how hard Nintendo games were. Older Mega Man games were fun for everyone regardless of what kind of gamer you were, but these are directed towards 1)those who love Megaman, 2) are hardcore gamers (that is, those who are dedicated towards their games and gameplay), and 3) those who can take a beating and return for more. This game in normal mode won't necessarily tear your hair out, but it's hard mode will make you bald quickly. I definitely cannot give it a 5 because it's not as accessible to all ages (even to the older ages), so I give it an average score.

Interesting new ways of playing such as finding and usuing new themed suits and a more "freeroam" feel.

Im an old megaman fan, back when all the villan robots were themed and had names to match.

Great stuff.

Cutman, Woodman, Bubbleman, and so on.

The visuals kick you in the crotch as a good 2d game should.

The zero series was fun, getting old after 2 and it almost looked like capcom was giving up on this great style of game.

This game doesnt have x or zero in their traditional roles but it works so well.

Enter MegamanZX a great "pick me up" for the series, something fresh, yet not kiddy, something new, but well done.

Hats off to Capcom and the DS.

Also some suits like the Zx and Ox have none. The only other major problem was the difficulty. Until large parts of the map were explored I had no idea where to go. You don't really need to know any of the back story. Now with a name like Slither you know they are only up to good. It keeps the same confusing overworld layout from Zero. This game is a essentially a boiled down Zero game. Also some of those suits never got used.

On the topic of save points - they are rare and losing all your lives means loading up the last one, there is no continue feature. The mavericks have been defeated and a large Corporation called "Slither" has moved in as a police force. The mapping and the GTA lite style of missions is still bad. They got rid of cyber-elves as items and took the powers of the blaster and energy sword and combined it into the Zx suit.

Worst of all the use of the second screen is tragically underused. The Px ninja stle was the most useless, closely followed by the fire Fx suit.At about 10 hours this feels like a good length for a portable Megaman. The game also has many hidden elements like power ups, energy tanks, and even a hidden suit. Certain powers have a second screen ability - Hx can see enemy weaknesses, Lx has an item radar, Px has a regular radar.etc, but having to switch prevents it from being as useful of a feature as it could have. Megaman ZX is a spin-off of the Mega Man Zero series, which itself was a spin off of Mega Man X.

There are 4 other power suits held by the 8 villains (2 robots have half of each power) which you need to complete the game. You start by choosing a male or female transporter with a mystery package. This game takes place many years after Mega Man Zero 4 for Nintendo Game Boy Advance. This is a great DS game that you should check out. For that I think they made a big step forward (I never really got the whole cyber-elf thing). It turns out that in that package is something called biometal which contains the essence of a Megaman power. That second screen will just have a big "MEGA" on it. Essentially in the beginning you can't really tell that you are in a wrong area until you reach a locked door.

However there are many thing they didn't improve at all. The game starts out difficult and gets much easier as you get higher level suits and know where save points are. There are a few problems with the game. Also I am baffled as to why the well made cutscenes are still in Japanese. This is a good reboot of the zero series.

this game is a spin-off of the zero series and it has better sprites, graphics, better forms, and a great story which make it a formidable rival to other games. You will not stop playing this game until you beat it but it is very hard if its on normal mode fortunately it has a easy mode for beginners.you will enjoy this game it has amazing music, graphics, characters, everything is good.

Although for veterans the level design will feel rather blad and dull, for non-vet players they will be challenging and fun to go through. This game is pretty well rounded, has a lot of challenge but is also toned down in difficulty if needed for those who are more casal players. Overall a very solid experience but definitely not perfect. some level design improvements could be added and some changes to the weapon mechanisms as well. overall, the story line is kind of "bleh," though you do get two stroylines to go with each according character. If you are a fan of the Megaman series or of Zero, then this game is a must for oyu. Most of the weight of the game lies in the presentation and the level designed. Great buy for the price.
