These days most games just show off on the huge system requirements and have the same one or two tried and tested game formulas - like shoot em ups Quake types or Diablo type dungeon crawlers in 3D or 2D. This game has a mix of innovation in all aspects of game play - an easy to use attack system for those who like action, quests for those who like adventures, social games for those liking the "SIMS" type games, awesome soundtrack, great graphics effects. Augmentations for weapons are a good touch. This feature was a wished for feature in other RPGs where if you loose a quest you would have to restart with all the stats set to the pre-quest values.Couple of thing still sorely missed in all these RPG games is a weapon system that a user could design using items collected from all over. I had played a lot of these RPG games since Diablo I. But then it missed the replay value of Elderscrolls. Even fallout 3 does not have a feature like this.
But the ingame camera that tracked the character was very awkward to use and the combat system when fighting with swords had no way to direct a slash by changing the camera direction. But a range weapon that can be modified using different propellents, different types of triggers, and different types of payloads would have been nice. That feature alone contributes to the great replay value of this game. They were getting better each year.
When Fable came out I read a lot of postive reviews but never bothered to test it out. Just recently tried this game on a friends computer while eagerly awaiting for Fallout 3. May be the feature was ignored because there was no character like the "Monk" in Diablo in this game.If you want a game or two (Fable 2) which will get you hooked to gaming, This is it.Lets see if Fallout 3 or Diablo 3 can match the innovative features in this RPGFive stars for this all time favorite computer game. Different styles, different features like in Dungeon seige or Lucas arts games. Now can patiently wait (for 2 or 3 years) till a Mac version of Fallout 3 comes out.jus kiddin'. May be in Fable 3. So all I am saying is there has never been a game that fulfilled all the great elements of gameplay till FABLE.One can play the quests again and again using different weapons or combinations of spells and gain all the experience from an unfinished quest to try better weapon spell combinations.
For example, when Elderscrolls on XBox came out, it initially looked great because of the vast expanse of the world within the game. And I am hooked. Then Lucas arts came out with such a feature in their Jedi outcast. And an attack system in which keys that can be chained to create combination attacks like they had in that game called "Oni".
I've never had this much trouble on any other game. So, I had heard loads about this game on xbox, and was excited when I heard it was available on mac. and submitted and explanation of what was happening, and the system report of my computer that they want. And, now two weeks later (and a second submission) I have yet to hear a peep from the tech support. So, I bought it, and have regretted it ever since. No USA tech support.). I can't actually say that the game was bad.
What. Nevertheless, the game consistently freezes during the first cut scene before the actual gameplay. I haven't actually been able to play it.I'm running a 2.2 Ghz Intel Core 2 Duo 15" Macbook Pro, which supposedly meets the minimum game requirements. This looks like it could be an awesome game, but I can't get it to run at all.So, I used their online tech support (b/c I'm not calling the UK. Maybe it's just Feral Interactice is stupid. So, I'd rate this game as a 0/10, b/c of all the hype, without any results.
This game is very expandable and playable many times over, also graphics are good a very low levels. I give this game 2 thumbs up.
One's that I honestly had to pause and think "do I want to do this." Lionhead honestly made a truly one of a kind game with Fable. All in all it is a truly unique game that offers you a true choice to be good or evil. I found that the story may not have been as long as expected. The story remains the same. For me it was around 8-9 hours.
You can have different hair styles, tattoo's, expressions that will effect how people react to you as well. I own Fable for the Original Xbox and was worried some things might get lost in the translation and controls. After hearing that Fable was avail on PC/Mac I was fairly worried. You can fall in love (with a man or woman), buy a house, drink at a bar, etc. That's not to say it would be maybe a few hours more because I haven't completed all of the side quest.
Fable is a game that truly lets you play how you want (good/evil/mix) and even changes your appearance based on the extremes. And have actually enjoyed them all. There are also quite a few choices that you must make throughout the game. This is a MUST HAVE for any gamer. The story line is fantastics and once you get into it you will be hooked. On the flip side if you do constant good things and continue to be a hero you will "glow", your hair will become whiter etc.
So this will be a possible want for some gamers. This game is truly a gem. As an avid console gamer I am often skeptical of PC/Mac games. I know that a lot of individuals are now more interested in this game now that Fable 2 is around the corner (exclusive on 360 for now perhaps PC/Mac later). But with its awesome praise there must come negatives. I have played my fair share of PC/Mac games to include (but not limited too) Black and White 1 & 2, F.E.A.R., Half Life, etc. Hope this game will bring you as much fun as it has brought me. There is so much to do.
I must say that I am mistaken. The controls transition smoothly from console to Mac. Peter Molyneux does an EXCELLENT job with Fable. I will not give out story details because I don't want to spoil any of this for you. You constantly do evil things and have your moral slider over to evil you can grow horns and have glowing red eyes. But the fact of the matter is this is a NEED for gamers. And the people will react accordingly. And in my opinion this is in my top 5 games of all time.
I'd recommend saving your money for Neverwinter Nights 2 if you want to game on a Mac.
RPG and adventure games for consoles are necessarily simple because of the limitations of an Xbox or a PS3.
It's like playing the Sims on your computer vs.
Fable is ported from an Xbox game, so if you are used to great fantasy adventure games like Diablo or Neverwinter nights then this is a big disappointment.
Better alignment system were developed decades ago on better games, but again, it's a console platform.
Every bit of dialogue is taken from the stockbook of boring lines and the horrible acting is cringe inducing.
It is also written with a series of stock cliches, you start out a kid, your village is killed, they take you to a guild to train you up.
The Alignment part of the game affecting your appearance is very novel, if horribly pedantic: the game tells you when you're about to do something bad or good, and when you are making an alignment choice.
playing it on your Wii, there's simply no depth or breadth to Fable: The Lost Chapters whatsoever.
