You have an option of taking photos, videos or audio with the lifecam. The Microsoft Lifecam VX-1000 is very user-friendly. All you have to do is connect the usb cord your computer and it will start the program you uploaded (CD-rom included). The only negative thing about this product is that it tends to be not so clear at times, but for the most part a good buy for the price.
Although the mic did pick up sound very well. The picture was not sharp or very bright. I bought the MS Lifecam 1000 for skype. The camera did not sit well on any surface, it could easily be disrupted. I have since replaced it.
The picture and voice are very clear. Now I can talk and see my family at the same time. It is so easy to install. Everyone lives in different states and it feels like they're in your home. Well worth the money.
fits snugly to the top of a flat screen desktop monitor, quality of image is acceptable. a little bulky for what it is supposed to do, but overall a fine product. recommend but only if you are willing to pay the slightly higher price mandated by microsoft.
A cheap, yet well made and versatile webcam. One of the best deals around and my personal favorite, when it comes to webcams.
