Since it runs off it's own A/C adaptor and is extremely quiet I paired it with the NYKO EX cooler as well I picked up at a gamestop. I purchased this after getting the 3 red lights. With this fan blowing cool air into the 360 and the NYKO EX sucking out the hot air, I checked the air exiting the system and it was over 15 degrees warmer than the room. I also performed home thermometer test and both working in unison reduced the 360's internal temperature about 12-15 degrees. Using this by itself is decent and works well. Now granted while my 360's warranty was extended by MS for an additional 3 years I wanted to ensure the cooling stayed in check. However I am a Tim Taylor kinda guy, more power. This is well worth the purchase if you pair it with something like the NYKO EX as well.
I do take issue however with the Product description stating that it is "Ultra-Quiet", and while it's not overly noisy or distracting during game play it is noticeable when browsing in the dashboard area. The fans are functional and add a "measure" of extra cooling which, if anything they can be helpful to the newer Xbox's built in cooling fans but, I'm not sure if they would be enough to handle the cooling issues in the older generation Xbox's, but then again they can only help. The Xbox 360 Cooling Station enhances the look of your Xbox console with the green lighting around the base which kinda looks cool to show off to your friends, although who stares at the console while your doing some intense gaming. The unit also has a place to hold four memory sticks, and has an edge over other add-on cooling solutions in that it has it's own power source and doesn't draw it from the Xbox console's power supply. Overall I like the product and it is reasonably priced even if for nothing else than just making making my Xbox console look cool, with the extra cooling boost being thrown in as a bonus.
it doesnt look like the nasty green in the picture. I just got the fan today. its like the green button on the xbox. but i would recommend getting this. maybe it was bc it was in a cabinet but i moved it out so ill see what happens. from what i noticed, it didnt really keep my xbox that cool. the glow is really cool also. best fan ive seen so far.
The stand looks pretty sweet. but other than that it does its job. but a nice swift kick usually knocks the sound out of it. its white color matches my 360 perfectly. its even got a chrome plate on the front of it that says "intel" only thing i dont like about it is the fans started to make a lot of noise after a couple weeks of use. oh and the green makes my room light up
The green light from the stand is a nice feature and lets you know the fan is on. The xbox 360 glow stand with fan is a great accessory. The stand looks sleek with the xbox console. My son plays Madden football all day and the xbox did not overheat. This works excellently with the built-in fan from the xbox itself. The fan pushes out the hot air from the bottom of the stand. Another great feature is that the glow stand fan plugs into any standard outlet, it does not generate its power from the xbox console. Although it is recommended that you take breaks after a few hours to let your machine cool down, this fan allowed my son to play for three straight hours before I told him to take a break.A great buy.
