Editorial Reviews:

The USA Evolution Playseat features a reinforced steel tubular construction that eliminates excess wobble and a high-quality vinyl seat cover with increased cushioning. The playseat has a unique folding design, making it easy to dissemble and store. It is adjustable to almost every game console/computer and steering wheel.

User Comments about the Playseats Evolution Gaming Seat (White with Silver)

This has made playing driving games a lot more realistic and certainly more fun. It is easy to adjust for different people though a little heavy to move completely. It works just as well for an 8 year old girl as for an adult and looks good in these colors.

It is a very nice addition. This makes it a little difficult to move around when you need to do so, but with hardwood floors it slides quite easily. Overall it's decent. If your going to use this on hardwood floors, I would absolutely get some sort of the foam tiles at a home improvement center as a base.

However, Smoke-tronics makes a kit using the Buttkicker amp and LFE speaker to attach to this unit, and it is FAR BETTER than the Gamer device. There seems to be a need for a brace from the top of the pedal platform to the floor. As hard as I sim-race, I would definitely get a handful of lock washers to add to the various cap screws. I am around 5-10 and 185-lbs. It does do some flexing under moderate force which annoys me. Not a big deal, I guess, but I think better care should have been taken and/or a better finish applied.

There are some improvements that can be made, however, I am a picky engineer-type who tends to over-design everything. The paint finish is THIN. No matter which position I tried I felt the wheel was too close into my chest and the tilt-angle of the wheel I found awkward. The seat is comfortable, and it folds down. This is a very nice sim seat. There is some adjustability of the seat/wheel/pedals which would satisfy most. None of the cap screws come with lock washers. I'd been looking for something like this for a while, and you really can't beat the price considering what was available for how much cost only 2-3 years ago.

The Logitech G25 wheel perches perfectly onto the mount, as do the pedals and the shifter (onto the optional mount). The wheel platform does adjust, but not easily and not enough, I found. It's definitely something you can be satisfied with out of the box but I have this disorder that requires me to improve on everything, no matter how good the original design of the product.PROS: Very solid construction, quite heavy so it is a fairly stable platform. It will only help keep it together with all of the abuse you will probably give it, and help if you mount the Buttkicker as well. NICE.CONS: Part of what makes it so stable is the weight of it. I think it necessary to purchase the seat slider kit also available on Amazon.GLITCHES: If you use the Logitech G25, be sure to purchase the shifter mount now available from Amazon.

Just in the little bit of handling during shipment the paint has been marred/scratched in several places. The unit even comes with the correct bolts and allen wrenches, which are also used to assemble the seat, to bolt the G25 components to the assembly. Although there is much adjustability to the unit, I could not get comfortable in it. I'll see if I can remedy this on my own at some point in time. There is NO MOUNT for the Buttkicker Gamer on this seat.

Used with a Logitech Force GT wheel and pedals, this is an amazing place to play GT5 Prologue. The wheel clamps perfectly to the top plate, and I routed the cables down the support tube (with a dremeled slot in the end cap for the cables). The pedals were stuck down with the included velcro and cable ties. There is plenty of adjustment room for different size drivers (4 foot tall to 6 feet tall), and its comfortable too. I found myself watching a movie in it.It's heavy (50lbs), which makes for a solid perch, but moving it out of the living room is a chore, so prepare to decorate the room around it.The installation instructions are not that great, but a reasonably able person can put it together in a few minutes.

It should have come with the product. Seats can be bent down for storage. I use it for both my PC and PS3 in my Entertainment room and shift between them easily. I use it with a G25 and hoped that I would Find a Shifter extension but couldn't find it here in Amazon. Overall I am satisfied.

I use the Playseat EVO with my PS3-Logitech Gran Turismo wheel. I picked the black seat and it still looks like it did when I bought it. My dog marked it as his on day two and it cleaned up a damp soapy rag. I play games such as GRiD, DiRT, GT5 Prologue, Need for Speed Pro Street and Initial D (Japanese Import) with much ease. Very happy with the quality and clean up. Good Buy.
