User Comments about the Logitech NEW G5 Laser Mouse

I bet the Logitech G5 will last me years and years. And there was no place to put my thumb when using it so it wasn't that that comfortable. This is just one example of what is possible with the third party driver used in combination with this great mouse.Note that another third party driver called USB Overdrive does not give you full control over all of the buttons on this mouse.I had a cordless mouse previously but the internal battery in it died after just a year. This is a great mouse in most respects (and I'm not even a gamer); it feels sturdy like it will probably last a long time and it has just the right number of buttons.

While the Logitech G5 laser mouse does work right out of the box on a Mac, in order to be able to program each and every button to your liking, you will need a third party driver. and it works very well. It also feels good in my hand and the ability to use the weights to make it heavier is nice. That way, I don't have to use the scroll wheel to scroll if I don't want to. The Logitech G5 is much better.

I love that I can have the top and bottom thumb buttons programmed to be scroll buttons. With it, you have full control over all aspects of this mouse including programming all buttons, scroll speed and cursor movement speed. I'm using something called Steermouse ($20). I wish Logitech would come out with their own driver for the Mac for the G5 but I'm quite happy with the thrid party driver that I'm using with this mouse. I really think a wired mouse is better as you do not have to fool around with a rechargeable battery that may not last.

great mouse what more can i say. i personally like the weight adjustment that u can do combined with the sensitivity change i felt really accurate in games like call of duty 4 and team fortress 2.

Frankly, that feature seems a bit over the top, but it is certainly unique. The wire is more flexible then others I recall using; so much so I don't even realize it's wired at all. Very pleased with purchase. This is a good one folks. Back to wired has solved the problem. The G5 has a great feel to it and its textured surface allows for a nice bond between hand and mouse. It is exactly as described and takes the place of a wireless mouse that (through no fault of its own) was "sticking" and freezing-up. I've never had a mouse that I could balance with individual weights. If you need/want a wired mouse I don't know how you could pick a better one.

feels good. I never knew that a mouse change could improve your game so much. More control. faster.

This mouse is worth every penny you spend on it, its very smooth scrolling except in muggy conditions which tends to make it feel stuck to the surface but thats normal for those conditions. I like the look of it and ive always liked the mouse smooth surface clickers and for this being my first laser mouse i cant say ive noticed any jurky mouse pointers from it and i must say on the fly dpi is very nice and the weight system is a nice touch. hope everyone else agrees with what i say.
