User Comments about the Fantastic Four and Silver Surfer - Complete Comic Edition

There is no way a scan is going to be better than the original its scanned from.Unless you expect somebody to retouch 11,000+ pages you will be happy with this package. It's looks exactly like you remember the original comics.I'm delighted with this DVD and am delighted there's no more DVDs like this being produced.

A little more work (such as using photoshop to get rid of those damn staple holes) would have made this collection a lot more attractive. The Good: You own the comics (you can only view, not download, online). They also include various graffitti such as ink stamps from a local comic book store - surely a better copy could have been found. The Bad: The scans are of old comic books (not the Marvel original artwork) and they include the staple holes. A comparison between the first Fantastic 4 comic online at Marvel.com and the same comic on DVD shows that the online version is much more vibrant and colorful. You also get the ads from the comic books as they appeared originally - making them a virtual time machine.

I've used their free shipping several times and never had an item crushed into a too small box. I'm very glad that I bought this item, but I wanted to say something about the shipping of my item. I'm reluctant to use their free shipping again. The box they put my item in was clearly too small and they had to crush my product's box to get it to fit in. I opted for the free shipping through Amazon since it was available. I have never seen such a horrifying lack of concern over shipping from Amazon. Maybe you really do get what you pay for.

They are easy to navigate and extremely legible. This set has been well worth the money. So many comics for so little money is a great deal. Since I bought this set, I have bought several more and am extremely pleased with all of them.

Anyway this is a fantastic collection the art is amazing and Stan Lee's writing in particular and worth the price, I've heard Federico Fellini himself used to read and admire Stan's writings and I can see why. This is one of the most wonderful ideas Ever thank you Marvel comics, thank you so much. These peaces of art are part of our countries Artistic heritage, just as much as Copley or Okeeffe. That is one reason I adore these collections I can read over 400 issues any time I want. I'm a film writer and of course I love to read and books are one thing pretty much any great peace of literature you can think is out there but comics and pulp magazines are a whole other story. Not to mention the storage As it is I have three book shelves brimming with books and boxes and so on. My hope is that people will see the beauty and artistic value of these and buy these collections so that Marvel will continue release all their titles.
