Bypassing the plug's incompatability will cause your xbox to red ring from lack of enough power. Don't waste your time purchaseing this for an xbox 360 elite console. Power cable is not compatable with cooler device. Wish I had know this before purchaseing it.
MS won't replace a 360 with these burn marks since the intercoolers are not approved accessories. Evidently these devices draw too much power from the 360 resulting in burn marks over time. I returned mine right away after reading about this. My power cord wouldn't connect to the device as the instructions showed anyway.
Try the game for a few stages with the intercooler you will notice how cool to the touch your 360 is with this accessory3. get a copy of Ninja Gaiden 2why this game in particular. i wont try to explain the physics behind the problem, just try the following experiment and you will regret putting the intercooler on the 360.1. because lots of enemies in the screen simultaneously causes great stress on the drives and motherboard.2. Play through the same stages WITHOUT THE INTERCOOLER.Seeing is believingI beg for anyone that performs this experiment and does not notice any difference to reply, i am pretty sure that no one will reply
I had to use a hammer and pliers to get the damn thing off. i bought the intercooler when reports started coming out about the RROD issue. it took a couple of the little plastic thingys that cover the prongs with it. wrong. I figured any way of keeping my machine cool was better than having to send it in, right. it attaches to the 360 shoddily and a power arc between the power outlet on the back of the 360 and the intercooler fused the intercooler to the back of my system. I've also read reports that the intercooler actually CAUSES the RROD issue because it draws too much power away from the system.
So I bought this and fixed the 360 again, this time with the intercooler plugged in, everything worked and still is working smoothy. This intercooler is a must for the 360, exspecially if you have an old one. I had the RROD, so I fixed it and it worked, but as soon as I put the 360 back together, more RROD. A must have.
