Scoring is also clearer on Zuma, and much more fair as you automatically receive your bonuses, rather than having to catch them as is done in Luxor, including bonus balls. As a Zuma addict and JT's Blocks fan, this definitely fits in. Compared to Zuma, you have to shoot balls from the bottom rather than the center, and this can be problematic in many of the scenes, but it's an enjoyable challenge. The story-line is done between levels and reminds me of my original Nintendo games, but for someone who can play the fast-moving puzzle games for hours, it's great.
On the down side you are not able to name your profiles so you just have to remember how far you have gotten in the game if you are playing with another person in your house. I had this game on PC, Nintendo and now on the Wii. Overall i would recommend this game. I find that the controls on the wii can make the graphics on the game a bit shaky at times, that was the only thing I found annoying. I find it very relaxing and it is something my whole family can enjoy. The graphics and colors are good. It has made a nice addition to our family games on the Wii.
Luxor for the Wii is fun. The game itself is much the same, shoot balls at other balls to make three in a row or more of them disappear. Computer games are cool enough but I just can't get into playing games with my keyboard or mouse so the Wii version was much better as far as controlling game play goes. End of review.Well.okay, maybe a few more thoughts. I did own Luxor 1 & 2 for my Mac before I got this for the Wii, in fact, owning it for my computer is most likely the reason I bought it for my Wii. Good stuff. The only small fault I could find was that the graphics seemed a little small on the screen although, due to the wireless nature of the Wii controls, I was playing it from across the room on my couch instead of 12 inches away like on the Mac version. All in all, Luxor is lots of fun and through the "find new and used from $$" button on amazon, is easily purchased and shipped for less than $20.
One big drawback, though, is that it's strictly a one-player game. I'm not sure how you would incorporate a second player, but it definitely would have been a worthwhile addition to the game.Overall, Luxor is a one-trick pony, but it's decently done. Luxor for the Wii is an alright game. I'm having a hard time getting super-enthused to play it, but at the same time I don't hate it.
There's not much depth to the game, especially given the lack of a second player. If you love Zuma, I'd say pick it up for the full price. That's why for the price ($39, but on sale for $29), I'm not really sure it's worth the money. The gameplay is smooth and it's easy to control the shooter. If you've played Zuma on the PC before, then you basically know what you're getting.
The endless mode is fairly good too, and it should keep you entertained for awhile. Otherwise, I'd wait until it's down to about 19.99, which would be a fair price for Luxor.
i'll have to tell you amazon has the best prices. if you like zuma and you are addicted to it like i am you will love luxor. great price. what keeps me coming back is the price and also the free shipping.
