she'll ask you something that she's never asked you before, and then she gets mad when you get it wrong. I've owned Brain Challenge for a couple of weeks, and I do enjoy the games, especially the daily brain and stress tests. I think the creators of this game may have been a little [.]. because my coach will say things like "This is not a very good score", and if you get a question wrong, "Have you been listening to anything I said." She scares me a little more than my TA in Biology, and I can only hope that when a new Brain Age comes out it will be on mood stabilizers. you write 9 and it marks it wrong and says 32) which can be frustrating, especially since the coaches cop an attitude if you don't maintain good scores. However, the game does make mistakes occasionally (for example 3x3. There are also mistakes in the format of the coaches' brain questions. I don't need a DS game to judge me.
This game, the coaches have a "What's wrong with you." response to an off day. I, like many who have purchased this game, also have played the Brain Age 1 & 2, Flash Focus, and other similar games. All I can think is how much that would suck if the person playing is sensitive to criticism. I'm against putting people down to help them improve. The only thing that I really don't care for is the attitude of the coaches. I will agree with the others and say that it does have the best variety, and best graphics. In the Brain Age games, if you have an off day, your coach has an "It's okay, you're just having an off day, you'll do better tomorrow" kind of attitude. So a word to the sensitive people, if you are going to buy this game, skip past coach comments.
I thought this was a luxury item that on a fixed income I should not get.
I just got my first hand held video game unit the Nintendo DS lite.
WRONG.Now I condiser it physical therapy and a medical need. They test you then give you a work out.
I got this as my first of two games.
I have read so much on how important it is to exercise your brain and work with eye hand coordination as we age.
I have work to do.The game is fun and challenging for me.
I took the brain test and was very shocked at my brain age.
Some exercises are very difficult to do.
You see your scores and are praised or told you need to work harder.I highly recommend the game for the medical value and it is just plain FUN.
Aside from that, I like the game. I continue to do the tests just for fun and my score is always 100% now. I have never played 'Brain Age'. Maybe one is supposed to score all "A plusses" in all the training games/ levels to beat the game. I downloaded this for my ipod.
I felt that it was a bit too easy to reach 100% and when I did, nothing happened. I figured that once one made it to that mark, a "new rank" would be achieved. I like it, I play it right before bed. this goes up to 1000%".
It is even more fun to play not half asleep with one eye closed. or "hey dummy, we tricked you. I don't know. It is weird because I feel I don't know if the game is "over".
I would like it if the company and/ or game itself said "great job, smartie, go play something else now". I like it just as much as 'Big Brain Academy' on the Wii.
This wastes about a minute *every* time - highly annoying.
The game is better than Brain Age (IMO) due to the large variety of challenges that it presents.
I fear that one day I might stab my stylus all the way through my DS due to this stupid trait. You can see that the above annoyances are really ruining my enjoyment of this otherwise excellent game.
However, it has the following highly annoying traits:- The alarms when the time is about to end: all this does for me is stress me out and makes me miss the last few questions.
I (by necessity) practice late at night and the tiresome repetitive advice about my late bedtime really sucks.- The animation at the start of the game: There seems to be no way to skip the game maker's stupid logo animation every frikking time one starts playing.
It keeps going on and on while one is browsing the menus.
Running the DS on mute helps for sure.- The theme music: I haven't found a way to turn this off.
Running on mute helps here too.- The sanctimonious advice: I don't need some animated dumb bell to tell me how to live my life.
I really enjoy the tests and the practice but the annoyances above are just infuriating.
