After years of WoW, Warhammer PVP is a breath of fresh air. Addicting and fun. The collector edition has awesome art books, paintable ork, and other goodies that made it feel like it was worth more money, and not just a bigger box, like most games.
This is a Great Game, i Play alot of Online Games, and i have to say this is the best Out there.
Considering the myriad reviews of the game itself, I'll make it a point to focus on the Collectors Edition box:The size of the box alone is ludicrous, it is, for all intents and purposes a big, shiny, ****-off box, it is numbered, and it is nice to look at. The overall impression I got from the effort Mythic put into their CE box appearance alone was that they actually wanted you to give a damn about their game's special edition, this is further evidenced by actually opening the thing up.Forget a small piece of cel-art and a special item or two; this beast comes with a very well done art book (hardcover), a graphic novel collection explaining the story leading up the events in the game (also hardcover), and a small metal miniature (depicting the Ork Warboss Grumlok and his Shaman adviser Gazbag) paying homage to Warhammer in its original form as a tabletop wargame. There are also four exclusive in-game items that arrive in your characters' mailboxes: one is a head model item that varies by race, one is a limited-use (three charges) book that increases your experience gain, and the other two begin race-specific quests that, upon completion will grant you even more exclusive goodies. All in all, the purchase was well worth the money spent.
The art book is enormous and beautiful. Some great gear can be had from them. In the words of Zero Punctuation, this game is (as I mentioned in the title) stonking great.Takes the best elements from other MMO's and adds to it. Comic is well done. No more wondering where this quest wants you to go, because it's highlighted on your map. The PvP (called RvR) isn't forced, and you can start as soon as you enter the game and not get blown up at the starting gate, so to speak.Public quests are awesome. Oh, and don't worry about money, you'll have plenty from quests. The other stuff in the Collector's Edition is fantastic. And you also get in game rewards for purchasing the CE.
Unique faces (they get mailed to you, don't be looking for them at the creation screen) and other rewards as well. The only downside of WAR is the crafting, but it can be considered to not even be a downside. The map system is damn near perfect. Crafting isn't a big part of the economy. Very well thought out.I'm exceptionally glad that I sprung for the CE over the regular edition.
seriously all silver and no color. The book was good, the small statue/figurine is nothing like what they shown on the box or here on amazon. I was disappointed in the CE. about 1.5 inches high and all silver. I was expecting something to put on my desk to look at, but in the end it will forever stay in the packaging, inside of the original box, inside of a closet.
