This adjustment helps the discomfort level a little, but not near enough for me. The Nintendo DS Lite headphones have fairly decent sound quality, but each time I wear them for around 45 minutes they begin to hurt my ears. Another problem with these headphones is that they make your ears stick out too much, which makes you look kind of silly. Maybe these headphones work better on a younger person, but I wouldn't chance it if I were you. The discomfort comes from the ear clasps that keep the headphones on the ears. By that time, I can't take wearing them anymore. Since there is a pivot point on the clasp, each headphone can be adjusted some by pulling outward on the headphone itself when on the ear. If I had to do it over again, I would buy a regular type of headphones.
