Nyko Intercooler TS for 360. increases air flow and reduces heat afrom the console.

User Comments about the Intercooler TS

I already knew the older Nyko Intercooler was garbage and detrimental to the 360's life span. I read up on the TS and decided it was worth a nominal fee to try it. The biggest and best features are 1) It's own power supply and 2) Temp. After having my 360 RROD, sending it off and getting back.I wanted to add some cooling features to the box but did not want to crack open and void my warranty. Where I was expelling out air temperatures at around 92* without it, 88* with the intercooler attached. sensor. The temp sensor is GREAT because when you shut the box down, it stays running until it gets to a safe, cool temp. It then turns off and you have no worries.

HOMERUN. So Nyko was already had a count of 0 and 2. I took temperatures before and after the intercooler (ambient temps and case temps) and the temperature differences were noteworthy. The only draw back is audible sound but I will take that for cooler temps.

Save your money and do not buy these ridiculous, unnecessary devices. Ever since Microsoft approved the shoddily-made Xbox 360, which is infamously prone to overheating, it opened the door wide open for third party peripheral makers to release all manner of "system cooling" peripherals that do absolutely nothing at all. Do not be fooled though, these devices will not make your system any less prone to failure or "red rings of death."The only thing that these "external cooling units" do is wear out the system's internal fans faster, and there is no proof anywhere that these external cooling units make the Xbox 360 less prone to overheating / RRODing. They are nothing but a lame attempt by peripheral companies to cash in on consumer paranoia, and they will not protect your system from failure any better than the internal fans that it ships with.

This also allows the Intercool to continue to cool down the machine long after the power is turned off the 360. With the cooling effect this has on the 360, this is a necessity if you want to keep your 360 running for as long as you can. Thankfully the version I got was not the original one that melted around the plug-in. It is still easy to install but took a little bit more shifting to put it into the holes compared to previous models. THANK YOU NYKO. One more vital change is that the Intercooler is now Temperature sensitive.

I found myself shocked by this one day when I heard the Intercooler kick on about 30 - 45 mins after I had stopped playing. This would not only cause it to heat on the connection but rob the 360 of precious processing power. Once I got a working version, I had a helpful Best Buy employee advise me at the time to get an Intercooler for the 360. This was a pleasant and welcome surprise. In closing, if you own a 360 you MUST get this item. What this means is that rather than running the whole time your 360 is on, the Intercooler lays dormant until your system heats up. You finally heard the cries of the many Intercooler owners. Secondly, it is clear, allowing you to see any dust or debris that might have gotten into the fans (and believe me it does). To my surprise I happened upon the Intercooler TS.

I have had to go through 2 of them in the time I have owned my 360 but let me assure you my console gets a lot of play. First off, I have had my Xbox 360 for over 2 years now. That being said, after my 2nd one went out recently I went to Amazon to see about purchasing a replacement. Up until this point the Intercooler had run on the power of the 360's power cord.

I like many went through the RROD (Red Ring of Death) scenario (not once, not twice but 3 times). Pros:- Added Adapter (No longer runs on the power of the 360)- Efficient Cooling (System is much cooler with)- Temperature Sensitive (Kicks on when needed not before)- Small / Light / Easy to InstallCons:- Increased Price- Little Tricker to Install Once it does, the fans kick on and proceed to cooling down your system. My version was the EX (the version with the metal insert). Compared to the older versions it is about 1/4th smaller. First off it is much smaller.

Lastly, and the most important change, is it comes with its own adapter. Another thing is, to me it is a bit quieter. Here is what I have discovered.First off, if you have owned an Intercooler by Nyko, you will instantly see the difference. It's not very evident but you can tell the diffence. While I am not happy with the price increase from previous versions, I can understand the cost coverage of the adapter as a possible reason.

In my opinion it is because the fans are under powered (low RPM) and to that you add that the intercooler blocks the original fans exhaust, resulting in a half way solution, or increased problems. The Nyko intercooler TS is the long awaited cooler to finally put rest to the problems of the past (draining power from the console), but it falls short of delivering the ultimate solution. What i am doing now is a combination of two imperfect products:The Intec Cooling Station(a cool base with a fan) + the nyko intercooler TS =the results are great, the game disc comes out at room temperature, and the console performs as good as ever (note that there is no air conditioning in the room). Nyko's new product does works as advertised, it gets some hot air out, but to my surprise it does have a mixed effect on the console performance. For people in warm to hot climates (Caribbean) like me, the problem of the Xbox 360 overheating is very serious, as i can testify that my first one went the way of the RROD, even with a fan next to it. While playing Gears of War i noticed that the intercooler caused some noticeable lag that was not present before. My recommendation is that if overheating is a serious trouble for you, dont rely in just one product to solve it.

It keeps the 360 cool even after a few hours of Halo 3. This is a really good fan. It really improves upon the old Intercoolers and is much quieter in my opinion. Plus, it has its own power supply.
