User Comments about the Rock Band 2 Triple Cymbal Expansion Kit

I did not notice this and in any case the out of the box ability to tilt is insufficient. These cymbals appear and feel well made but one of the three pack I received today failed after 3 songs. Nothing at all like the Ion's ability to tilt the cymbals.I think the Rock Band 2 drums themselves are great. As for these cymbals, I have no confidence in their long term durability. Definitely takes some getting used to after using the Rock Band 1 kit for a year. Completely stopped responding, registering no hits.It was fun while they were all working. Cymbal notes are not differentiated from regular notes so you have to have some idea if an upcoming note is to be struck on the drum or the cymbal.Apparently the foam spacers that go under the wingnut on top of the cymbal are somewhat angled to provide you with some tilt. That being the case, I am going to return the Rock Band 2 drums to Amazon & buy the Ions.

Overall these are pretty cool additions, they look great. However, they do seem to be very sensitive and will register double hits if you hit them too hard. They do take some getting used to, and i probably only use the blue and green with any consistency.

It's so much better than reaching all the way back. Either way the strikes were accurate and no noticeable lag was detected.I did notice in the game it takes advantage of the extra hardware. This has got to be a must have add on. Assembly: The instructions were easy to read a wend together within minutes (Note: Some force will need to be applied to get wing nuts to catch).

You'll notice the green, blue, and yellow pad will be the sounds of drums (as opposed to cymbals or high hats. Either will work in song, but it impressed me that it's able to differentiate the two. I don't use the yellow one very much, especially in the fast songs, I just find it easier to hit the notes on the normal pads. I did use a Leatherman to get the sides together so I could tighten it down.Gameplay: This is going to depend on you.

The blue I do use quite a bit and the green I love. I though with the cord it would just duplicate the coordinating pad
